Wow! Do I have some big news to share with you today…
Today, the newest edition of STYLO magazine sees the light of day! In the past, this was an event I was sure to mark on the calendar, as this online magazine is always brimming with ideas and inspirational interpretations of indie designers’ patterns, created by bloggers all over the world.
This time, however, STYLO’s publication proves to cause even more excitement here! Debora Sluijs, known from the Belgian blog ‘Toertjes en Pateekes’, makes her very first appearance in STYLO. For the occasion, she asked me to develop some patterns. And as things go: the raincoat and the dress are now officially the foundational pieces – or founding pieces, if you wish – of Pixel Patterns
The dress and the raincoat are designed as an ‘ensemble’. The fit is such that both can be worn together and enhance each other. Style-wise, they complement each other as well. Both breathe the atmosphere of the sixties’ mod dress. The clear vinyl from the raincoat supports the feel from the era, when plastic entered the scene as a ‘miracle material’, inspiring both clothing and interior designers to create exciting new products and shapes.
Both dress and raincoat – with variations – will be Pixel Patterns’ first two releases. Future posts will deepen your acquaintance with both of these patterns. For my part, I am truly looking forward to see what how you will make those patterns your own!
For now, I will let the STYLO pictures speak for themselves – but not without thanking Debora for the wonderful collaboration and for her trademark impeccable styling! Make sure to check out her other creations and those of other bloggers around the world in…. STYLO4!
